The Turkana Gold Summit & Minerals Expo 2026 has concluded, bringing together government, miners, investors, financial institutions, equipment suppliers, development partners, and industry experts for three days of dialogue, investment engagement, networking, and collaboration around Turkana’s mineral potential.
Convened through a shared commitment to advancing responsible artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) in Kenya, the Summit brought together Solidaridad, the Kenya Oil and Gas Working Group (KOGWG), Geomine Consulting Limited, the Mining Engineers Society of Kenya (MESK), the Turkana County Government, the Kenya Chamber of Mines, and the State Department of Mining.
The Summit established itself as a significant mining investment, policy, and stakeholder engagement platform for Turkana County, creating space for meaningful conversations between government, communities, investors, financiers, technology providers, and the wider mining value chain.
Across the three-day programme, participants explored opportunities to unlock Turkana’s mineral potential, strengthen responsible mining practices, improve access to finance and technology, support sustainable livelihoods, and strengthen governance across the ASM sector.
The successful conclusion of the Turkana Gold Summit & Minerals Expo 2026 marked an important milestone for Turkana’s mining sector and strengthened the county’s visibility as an emerging destination for responsible mineral investment in Kenya.
